Battling the Basement: Empty Boxes
Apparently, the first step in Battling the Basement (at least, in my case) is collapsing empty boxes. Several banker boxes in a Jenga-style stacking method prevented me from navigating my way to the filled boxes. After folding them up, I can see a small section of cement, which I declare as no small feat in conquering this catastrophic mess.
It makes me wonder how many empty boxes in our lives prevent us from moving forward. Maybe these boxes served a purpose and were filled at some point. Maybe they can be folded and used again. But, they fail to be useful when merely stacked in the way of a filled box that requires our attention. How much time do we waste side-stepping them when we could take a few minutes to tuck them away until we need them again? How much more inspired could we be if we set aside what is less fulfilling at the moment for what is overflowing with possibility?
As I have a clearer view of the floor and those full boxes, I carry on (and maybe carry up and out) in my quest to vanquish my lower-level foe!
