One Good Thing Every Day: February 9, 2013
Henley shirts and berets, handmade dress-up gowns and a silver tiara, bed sheets and house plants brought Shakespeare's Verona to my hometown. Recitations from As You Like It, Twelfth Night, Sonnets 18 and 116, and a child's own inspired verse serenaded loved ones. The Montague-Capulet feud resumed, Romeo and Juliet rekindled their romance, and deep sorrow reminded actors and audience members alike of hatred's destruction and love's resolve. Shakespeare's words still resound, and I renew my home-educating zeal.
